K-Pop World Festival is back in Malaysia for 2017. If you are chosen as a Malaysian winner, you will have a big chance to be cordially invited to Korea to join the final contest together with representatives from other countries! Remember, the Finals will be organized by Korean Broadcasting System(KBS) and aired throughout a number of countries.
It is very simple to join: just create a video of yourself singing, dancing or doing both to a K-Pop song and send it to both (koreanembassypubdip@gmail.com) by 12 of May 2017. The submitted videos will be thoroughly reviewed, and only top 12 teams will be chosen to actually compete in the preliminary contest in Malaysia, which will be held on 10 June 2017 at HELP University. Please note that your song of choice should be the exact same song that you will be performing at the contest itself.
1. Team Composition Requirements
o Vocal Performances
- number of singers: no limit
- number of backup dancers: maximum two(2)
o Dance Performances
- the same number of members of the original K-Pop band is recommended (ex. Big Bang: 5 members) (If there is more than the number of original groups covered, the number of invitees to Korea can be limited.)
2. Deadline for Video Submission
o 12 May 2017, Midnight

** Minor applicants are required to prove that they have earned their parents' consent(statement with signature, ID photocopies)

3. Regional Preliminary in Malaysia("2017 K-Pop World Festival in Malaysia")
o 10 June 2017, Saturday, 16:30~18:30, HELP University Subang2 campus Multi Purpose Hall (associated with 2nd HELP Korean Carnival)
* The performances of the top 2 winners will be reviewed again by KBS, and only the chosen one by KBS will be invited to Korea for the Finals.
4. 2017 K-Pop World Festival in Changwon, Korea
o 29 September 2017
* The show will be aired throughout a number of countries including Korea

● Eligibility :
To participate as a performer (individual or team), you must be of Malaysia origin, living in Malaysia and over 15 years of age. (Parents should never have acquired Korean nationality)
● Online Audition Video :
Prepare and upload your performance video (ideally between 4-5 minutes) on YouTube and let us know the link through the Application Form. The Online Audition is for screening purpose only, and if you wish, you may prepare and perform a different item at the Festival should you be selected, with the approval of the Embassy.
[Q & A]
1. If you feel compelled to, you may send in both your Vocal and Vocal with Dance category videos (i.e. 2 different videos). However, only one ‘item’ will make to the live stage competition. In other words, no participant will have double performance.
2. You can participate as solo, with no ‘team members’.
3. As for the ‘Vocal with Dance’ category, you are required to sing as well as dance. Of course, you can include some moves (but not main) with Vocal only category.
4. With the choice of songs, any version is fine including Teledrama OSTs – as long as they are considered ‘K-pop’.
5. Those with a foreign nationality may participate in the online audition, however due to the regulations from the headquarters in Korea, one would not be able to ‘represent’ Malaysia as a winner of the qualifier. Only Malaysian citizen and living in Malaysia can reach a final competition in Korea.
6. The Online Audition Video has to be a non-edited ‘live performance’.
7. For the mixed song, maximum 2 songs (only same group’s 2 songs) are permitted.
